Volume 4 Number 1: Spring 2007 The Easter Bunny is Coming! The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Cherry Hill Park on Saturday, April 7th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. This tradition has taken place for more than a dozen years. The Easter Bunny will once again be present and available for photos. Bring your camera -- and don’t forget your Easter basket. Plant Exchange The annual plant exchange will take place at Cherry Hill Park on Saturday, May 12th from 10-12. Bring plants you would like to share with your neighbors, get new perennials for your garden and meet the other neighborhood green thumbs. Free advice will be in abundance. Web Update The Riverbend Neighborhood Association web site at www.riverbend48124.com has a listing of all upcoming events. The website also has copies of previous newsletters and other pertinent information. If you have not provided your e-mail address, please send it to caretto62@aol.com so that the Association has a way to disseminate important information efficiently. Condolences To Laurine Griffin on the passing of her husband Don in November 2006. Congratulations John Angus had his photography selected for the Juried Exhibit at the Padzieski Gallery. Bon Voyage and Good Luck Jeff Warner has joined the Peace Corps and will be teaching English in Bulgaria. Get Well Soon Ned Nikodem is recovering from hip replacement surgery. Save the date! The annual Riverbend Neighborhood Association Picnic will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2007. All dues paying households are welcome to attend. Watch for more info later this summer. If you have not yet paid your 2007 dues, there’s still time to do so: Just write your name, address, phone and e-mail address on an envelope, enclose $10 and drop it off at Jeff Klassa’s home at 22826 Law. Your dues help pay for the Easter Egg Hunt and the Picnic; and the printing of the newsletter. Community News ≈There will be an informational meeting and public forum on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. regarding the Federally Mandated Combined Sewer Overflow Control Program (CSO Project). The meeting will take place in the Auditorium at the Henry Ford Centennial Library. ≈Accompanying this newsletter you will find a Guide for Dearborn Residents. CERT training is designed to prepare you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster. Participants are taught basic first aid, how to implement a plan for disaster preparedness, and get practical experience using a home fire extinguisher. For more information contact Lt.
